Buy Gift Membership now – just in time for Christmas!

Giving experiences for Christmas rather than physical gifts is becoming increasingly popular, and we think there is no better Christmas present than membership of the AMS & Friends of Friendless Churches.

Members receive invitations to exclusive events, keep up-to-date with heritage news, and above all help us to defend historic buildings of all ages and types. The Society works in partnership with the Friends, who take on redundant churches and keep them open as monuments for all to enjoy.

Rates are unchanged again this year, from just £20 (senior/student) which we are told is excellent value!

How to purchase Gift Membership

Go to the Join Us page and select the appropriate type of membership (e.g. Individual). In the box that says ‘Your Message,’ type the name and address of the recipient, and say whether you would like the Welcome Pack sent directly to them or to you. The last date for Christmas orders is Monday 18th December though of course you can still join after that date.

Membership includes three newsletters per year, Winter/Spring, Summer, and Autumn, and a copy of our ‘Transactions’ published in spring. All members are entitled to attend AGMs of both organisations, a great occasion at which to meet like-minded people in a historic setting. Members can also join us for exclusive tours of fascinating buildings, led by experts: this year we saw St Albans Abbey in the company of Cathedral Architect Richard Griffiths, Turner’s House with architect Gary Butler, Charlton House in Greenwich and Fuller’s Brewery in Chiswick.

In the Welcome Pack, new members will receive:

  • A welcome letter
  • Two AMS & FFC postcards AND a Christmas Card!
  • The Autumn 2017 edition of our 60-page newsletter packed with news and events
  • A sample copy of our ‘Transactions,’ an annual journal of scholarly articles on all aspects of historic buildings
  • Details and access information on the 50 churches owned by the FoFC, our partner charity

The generous gift of Life Membership is also available at £700 (Individual) £900 (Joint) or £450 (Senior – 65+) – a bargain as rates are unchanged since 2010.

Order on our Join Now page and don’t forget to provide the recipient’s details in the box that says ‘Your Message,’ and to tell us whether delivery should be to you, or direct to the new member. (If you pay by PayPal, we will automatically receive the address and email associated with your account.) The last date for Christmas orders is Monday 18th December and while you can join at any time, Welcome Packs requested after that date will not be guaranteed to arrive before Christmas. If you have any questions, please call  Rebecca in the office on 020 7236 3934.
