AMS Autumn Visits 2019 Announced

The theme of this year’s Autumn Visits is ‘craftsmanship,’ as we are invited into the workshops of the Building Crafts College, the creative home of Khadambi Asalache, the medieval barn at Harmondsworth, and the Victorian masterpiece of St Mary Magdalene, Paddington.

This year’s AMS Autumn Visits expand heritage beyond buildings with malting, milling and artisan skills on show at Fulham Palace, Brixton Windmill, the Moravian Church in Chelsea and Warminster Maltings.

At the Griffin Brewery, we were treated to the sight of a working brewery that has occupied its current Chiswick premises since 1828, and has roots nearby that go back over 350 years.

AMS Members visited Kelmscott House in Hammersmith on 20th October 2016. This fine building was once the home of William Morris, the founder of Architectural Conservation as we know it, as well as a consummate artist in stained glass, textiles and murals.
