Become a Member today and support our work

We are delighted that you will be joining us as a member – simply select the membership type you wish to purchase and then ‘buy now’; payment is taken via Paypal.  Any questions?  Contact the office on 020 7236 3934.

Membership includes three newsletters per year, Winter/Spring, Summer, and Autumn, and a copy of the AMS ‘Transactions’ published in spring.

All members are entitled to attend AGMs of both organisations, and receive invitations to our Autumn Visits – in 2019 we went to 575 Wandsworth Road, Harmondsworth Barn, the Building Crafts College and St Mary Magdalene Paddington – and our Annual Lecture. In the Welcome Pack, new members will receive:

  • A welcome letter from us at St Ann’s Vestry Hall
  • Two AMS & FFC postcards
  • The current edition of our 60-page newsletter packed with news of our activities, book reviews, and dates for your diary
  • Our ‘Transactions,’ an annual journal of new scholarly essays on all aspects of historic buildings
  • Details and access information on the 50+ churches owned by the Friends, our sister charity

Please note: Due to current changes to our working patterns, we will be sending out virtual welcome packs for those joining from 16/03/2020 onwards, which will be received by email. You should then receive subsequent publications as normal. We apologise for any inconvenience.

The gift of Life Membership is also available at £1000 (Individual), for those who wish to make a more substantial commitment to our work.

If you are a UK taxpayer, we can reclaim Gift Aid on your membership fees which will allow your donation to go even further. By selecting ‘With Gift Aid’ from the drop-down menus below, you are agreeing to the following statement:

“Please treat as Gift Aid all qualifying gifts of money made in the past four years and all future gifts of money that I make from the date of this declaration as Gift Aid donations. I confirm I have paid or will pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for each tax year (6 April to 5 April) that is at least equal to the amount of tax that all the charities that I donate to will reclaim on my gifts for that tax year. I understand the Society will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give and that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year it is my responsibility to pay any difference.”

***GIFT MEMBERSHIP***

A subscription to the AMS and Friends of Friendless Churches makes a great present. To purchase, just select the option for Gift Membership, choose ‘Yes’ under ‘Is this a gift?’ and enter the name and address of the recipient in the box. If you would like us to send the welcome pack direct to the recipient, you can add a gift message. Otherwise, please use this box to request delivery to your own address.

The Chairman, Trustees and staff of the Ancient Monuments Society have been working over the past year to develop an exciting new vision and visual identity for the Society. From 1st October we will be known as Historic Buildings & Places.

We invite you to visit www.hbap.org.uk to discover our refreshed look through our new website and to keep abreast of the work and events we will continue to deliver under our new name.

We thank you for your continued support.
